Bentota is a coastal town located in the southern part of Sri Lanka and is approximately 65 Km from Colombo and 56 Km north of the city of Galle. The city is straddled by the Bentota river on one side and the Indian Ocen on the other. The turtle hatchery in Bentota, Sri Lanka, is a renowned conservation facility dedicated to protecting sea turtles. Up to five endangered species of turtles have been frequenting this beach stretch.
